But it was more oriented on the forms and I needed something else. I did that for 3 years (and I'm still droping by sometimes)

Right now I started training in Vale Tudo. In it you get boxing, grapling, wrestling, kick boxing... basically it's the training that the guys in the UFC are doing.

For now I'm not doing any sparing, but it'll come with time. It's pretty different from the traditionnal art like kempo, karate or k-fu.

they do a lot of that at his school too. i like to go on fridays and watch the sparring. lil mort just started sparring and she's getting pretty good. she will test for her orange belt soon and my husband will go for his 4th degree black in the next year or so. everyone keeps trying to get me to do it but it's just not my thing [img]wink.gif[/img] my husband tells them i am mean enough [img]graemlins/angel.gif[/img]

Being mean isn't a necessity, but if does help [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Have you ever watch other style? Maybe you could be interested by something else, like Tai chi, Bagua, Wushu. Those are pretty different from Kempo, but if you have some good teachers, they're awesome.

yea i have... he goes (well we both go now) to a seminar every year that a friend of his has at his school and people fly in and come from all over and teach their styles. it's very interesting but again, it's not my thing [img]wink.gif[/img]

Oh, ok, so it's martial arts in general. Tought it was only the style your husband was doing that didn't catch you.

To each his own I guess. I've loved martial arts since I was a kid (thanks to Bruce Lee [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) but I started "late" 16-17 years old. That's my only regrets. So I'm pretty envious of little Mort [img]graemlins/thumbs_up.gif[/img]

yea my husband started about 7 years ago and he's 34 now, lil mort is 12 and if she stays in it she will be kick ass. and she can cheat having a live in 3rd degree [img]wink.gif[/img] she's funny too cause she has pink sparring gear haha

well she thinks she's tough anyway but now she's learning the proper way to be tough, plus she's just under 5'8" and athletic... she scares a lot of girls she plays softball with [img]wink.gif[/img]
